School has been underway for a couple of weeks now and Stella has quickly climbed the ranks as the most popular staff member in the building. She is loved by all! It is very common for me to hear as we walk through the building students and other staff members playfully arguing over who is Stella’s favorite, or that Stella loves them more. She is like a celebrity, and she loves every minute of the attention.
Stella’s favorite part of her day is when she is in the lunchroom. In the lunchroom, Stella gets to see a lot of students at once which means, lots of attention, ear scratches and love. Stella does not get to clean the floor like some of the other dogs we know, and students know and respect that.
As Stella’s handler, I have seen Stella do some pretty amazing things for students in the short time she has been at Benton. I have seen her quickly turn a frown into a smile. She is really amazing at what she has been trained to do, and a great new addition to our team!
